Welcome – and thank you for visiting my page!
My name is Bridgette Patterson, and I am a communication major, with a visual media emphasis.
You may have noticed the name on my header, “Skape.” It means “create” in Norwegian. (My father’s grandparents were from Norway and settled in Minnesota in the 1860’s.) I loved the idea of using my heritage in the title of this blog, with a word that describes my passion for life; I love to create beautiful, original things. I shot the Delicate Arch panoramic displayed in my header when my husband and I visited Arches National Park in Utah last year.
I am from Ferron, Utah, but I have lived in Rexburg for 16 years.
My hobbies include graphic design, writing, history, reading, genealogy, photography, and quilting. I have no professional experience with photography, but I have taken a beginning photography class, and of course, COMM 130.
From this class I hope to take away a more advanced and professional ability to capture and edit my photography. With added knowledge I know I will be a more confident photographer and designer.
I look forward to getting to know each of you, and to learning from you, as well.
Sister Patterson, I don’t know if you remember me, I’m a friend of Modibo. Also I thought I would let you know my grandfather is from Norway as well. So there are a couple things we have in common. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing more of your pictures throughout the semester. It looks like you already taking great photographs.
Hi Clint – wow, that is so cool! How do you know Modibo? Were you in my student ward/stake? Being Norwegian is awesome. Cool that we have a couple of connections!
I was Modibo’s roommate last fall. He’s an awesome guy.
In response to seeing fit people at the gym, comedian Jim Gaffigan responded, “Why are you here? You’re done!” Haha 🙂 As I look through your pictures that came into my mind. They look GREAT! You are a great photographer. However, I know that you will learn more in this class and get even better! 🙂
Thanks Joshua – I look forward to getting to know you and learning together!
Hey Bridgette! I love that you picked the name Skape as part of your history and creative side. It’s fun to have a friend from Biddulph 🙂 I know you mentioned you’ve done photography before and I’m excited to see your pictures!
Thanks Ally – I look forward to having a great time together!
